Supplier CSV Column Mapper for Shopify
Supplier price lists use their own column names: RRP, Wholesale, Item Code, Colour, Artikelnummer, Image 2. The mapper suggests the matching Shopify column for each one using a small machine-learning model that runs on your device, checks the suggestion against the column's actual values, and shows a confidence score. You confirm anything it isn't sure about.

How to use the supplier csv column mapper for shopify
- Drop your supplier spreadsheet (CSV or Excel).
- Review the suggested Shopify column for each supplier column. High-confidence matches are pre-confirmed; others wait for you.
- Mark columns like Colour and Size as variant options, and a Parent SKU column as the one that groups variants into products.
- Preview the result in Shopify's format, then open the repair tool to export the full file.
What it checks
- Header model: A softmax classifier over character n-grams of the header, trained on hundreds of labelled supplier header variations in five languages.
- Value profiling: Image links, valid barcodes, prices, whole numbers, long HTML text and true/false values confirm or contradict the header.
- One-to-one assignment: Two columns can't both become Price; the second-best match is offered instead and flagged.
- Units: Weight columns in kg, lb or oz are detected and converted to grams; if the unit is unclear, you're asked.
Example
A supplier header that doesn't say what it is:
| Row | Code | Product | Link |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 4006381333931 | Organic Tee | https://cdn.example.com/tee.jpg |
“Code” → Barcode (the values are 13-digit numbers with valid check digits); “Link” → Product image URL (the values are image links).
Questions
Is my file sent to an AI service?
No. The model is about 50 KB and runs in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
What happens to columns Shopify doesn't support?
They're marked “Don't import” and left out of the Shopify file, because Shopify can reject unknown columns. You can map any of them to a Shopify column instead.
How accurate is the mapping?
On a small held-out test set — 34 supplier headers it wasn't trained on — the current model picked the right column for 33. Real files will vary, which is why uncertain matches always need your confirmation.
